Liverpool will secure their place in the Round of 16 of the Champions League if they beat LOSC Lille at home on Tuesday.

Liverpool are the only team to have won all six of their group stage matches so far and are at the top of the table with 18 points. Even a draw on Tuesday will assure them of a place in the last-16 stage.

Lille also find themselves in a similar situation as Liverpool. The French club currently occupy eighth place in the table with 13 points and know that an upset win could guarantee them a place in the last 16.

Lillle already have two major upsets this season having beaten Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid while also holding Juventus to a draw.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

Liverpool vs. Lille lineups, team news

Joe Gomez is the only major absence for Liverpool coach Arne Slot as the defender recovers from a hamstring injury.

Slot is likely to go with his first-choice starting XI and ensure they make it seven wins in a row thereby securing their place in the last 16 as well as affording him the chance to heavily rotate his side for their final group stage match against PSV on January 30.

Liverpool predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Alisson (GK) — Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson — Gravenberch, Mac Allister,  — Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz — Gakpo

Injured: Gomez
Suspended: None

Barring centre back Samuel Umtiti, manager Bruno Genesio has all of his senior player fit and eligible for the match against Liverpool.

However, Genesio will be without midfielder Andre Gomes, who joined the club as a free agent in September. Gomes will only be available to play in the Champions League after the group stage ends.

Lille predicted XI (4-2-3-1 right to left): Chevalier (GK) — Meunier, Diakite, Alexsandro, Ismaily — Andre, Bouaddi — Bakker, Haraldsson, Cabella — David.

Injured: Umtiti, Santos, Fernandez-Pardo
Suspended: None

Liverpool vs. Lille Prediction

Liverpool are favorites to win this match given their form in the competition. Add to that the incentive of securing their place in the last 16, Arne Slot's men should be able to secure victory.

Lille have been one of the most impressive teams in the Champions League this season. They have shown that they can take on and beat the big teams in Europe. However, their chances of silencing Anfield on a Champions League night might end up being too small.

  • Prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Lille
