It's that time of year again —the 2026 Florida high school cheerleading championship returns to Lakeland this week for two days of heated competition.

Every January the FHSAA hosts its annual cheerleading championship, inviting the best squads from across the state to compete for a title. Each team qualified with strong performances at regional meets in the past few weeks.

Teams will be competing across classifications 1A and 2A, and in different styles like Game Day, Varsity, Non-Tumbling and Co-Ed. After two days, several squads will be crowned state champions.

Where to watch Florida high school cheerleading championship: TV channel, live stream

Florida's high school cheerleading championship will not be broadcast on a TV channel. You can stream both days of the event live on NFHS Network.

The NFHS Network offers two basic plans: an Annual Pass ($6.67 per month) or a Monthly Pass ($13.99 per month). These plans give subscribers the ability to watch live sporting events and create clips of their favorite moments from games.

When is the Florida high school cheerleading championship?

  • Date: Thursday, Jan. 22 - Friday, Jan. 23
  • Time: 9 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. ET

Florida's high school cheerleading championship will take place Thursday, Jan. 22 through Friday, Jan. 23 from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily, depending on the flow of competition. The competition will be held at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Fla.

The FHSAA has announced the performance schedule on its website

All class 2A schools will compete on Thursday, and class 1A will compete on Friday, with an awards ceremony conducted at the conclusion of each competition day.
