Avesh Khan snatched momentum for Lucknow in that contest, delivering a clinical spell at the end of the innings. Khan dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag in the 18th over, and then claimed the wicket of Shimron Hetmyer in the last over to catch RR two runs short of the target.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals are having one of the best starts to an IPL campaign in years. With five wins from their first seven matches they sit second on the table. Led by a restructured leadership team with a few smart changes to the roster it appears the DC appear to be one of the top franchises in the tournament this season.
But, their batting order has not been without fault. Their top-order had also looked weak in parts, like it did in their last match against Gujarat Titans. The Capitals set a steep target of 204 runs, but the Titans chased it down clinically and won by seven wickets. This saw Delhi slip from the top of the table to second, while Titans ascended to the top of the leaderboard.
