More than a year after a knee injury ended her rookie campaign, Cameron Brink is once again ready to take the floor for the Sparks.
Brink, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, revealed on Monday that she will make her season debut when the Sparks face the Aces on Tuesday night. The 23-year-old forward has not been part of Los Angeles' rotation since suffering a torn ACL in her 15th career game.
While she will likely be on a minutes restriction as she gets back into shape, Brink should provide a boost for a Sparks squad that has won five straight games. LA will utilize every frontcourt piece on the roster in order to slow down Las Vegas star A'ja Wilson, who ranks second in the league in points (21.6) and rebounds (9.1) per game.

What happened to Cameron Brink?
On June 18, 2024, Brink suffered a knee injury in the first quarter of the Sparks' loss to the Sun. The next day, the team announced that Brink had been diagnosed with a torn ACL in her left knee, and Brink later noted that she also tore her meniscus. The injury not only ended her rookie season, but also her dreams of playing in the Paris Olympics as a member of the U.S. women's 3x3 team.
"You never think it will happen to you," Brink wrote in an Instagram post last year. "And despite all the hard work, sometimes it does. This is hard to fathom, but I know it will only make me stronger."
After a 13-month rehabilitation process, Brink is excited to finally hit the court for real action.
"It means the world," Brink told John W. Davis of the Long Beach Press-Telegram. "I'm just very excited, very humbled by this experience. It's no easy thing to come back from, so just really excited."
Brink, who averaged 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 15 games as a rookie, could be a true difference maker down the stretch for the Sparks, who are hoping to earn a playoff berth for the first time since 2020.
