San Siro is bracing for fireworks on Matchweek 3 of the Serie A season as AC Milan welcome Bologna in what promises to be a feisty showdown.
Massimiliano Allegri’s men stumbled out of the gate with a loss in their season opener but wasted no time bouncing back, brushing aside Lecce in convincing fashion. The Rossoneri now return home with revenge on their minds, eager to flip the script against a familiar foe.
Bologna, meanwhile, arrive riding momentum after edging Como with a second-half strike in their last outing. La Grassa may not have lit up the scoreboard, but they got the job done — and with last season’s double over Milan still fresh in memory, confidence won’t be lacking in their camp.
The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times, and the latest lineup news.

AC Milan vs. Bologna lineups, team news
AC Milan could roll out the red carpet for two deadline-day arrivals this week, with Christopher Nkunku and Allegri’s trusted lieutenant Adrien Rabiot both tipped to make their club debuts.
Up front, Santiago Gimenez remains in the picture after his proposed move away fizzled out. Fresh off a stunner for Mexico against South Korea, the striker will jostle for minutes alongside Nkunku, Christian Pulisic, and Rafael Leão. However, for Leão, the Portuguese star is still recovering from a nagging calf injury.
AC Milan predicted XI (3-5-2, right to left): Maignan (GK) — Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic — Saelemaekers, Loftus-Cheek, Modric, Rabiot, Estupinan — Pulisic, Gimenez.
Injured: Rafael Leão (calf).
Suspended: None.
Bologna’s transfer window ended with the loan arrival of Ibrahim Sulemana from Atalanta BC, but the midfielder finds himself on the treatment table for now. Summer recruit Ciro Immobile remains unavailable too, still nursing a thigh injury.
Even defender Nicolo Casale and former Milan midfielder Tommaso Pobega are also ruled out, while full-back Emil Holm could be forced to swap his boots for a seat in the stands.
On the brighter side, all eyes may turn to Jon Rowe. The English winger, fresh off a move from Marseille following a reported training ground clash with Rabiot, is in the mix to feature from the opening whistle.
Bologna predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Skorupski (GK) — Zortea, Vitik, Heggem, Miranda — Freuler, Ferguson — Orsolini, Odgaard, Cambiaghi — Castro.
Injured: Ibrahim Sulemana, Ciro Immobile, Nicolo Casale, Tommaso Pobega.
Suspended: None.
