Sophie Cunningham grew in popularity in a major way in her first season with the WNBA's Indiana Fever.
She became known as Caitlin Clark's "enforcer," willing to stand up for the superstar on the court.
The long-time Phoenix Mercury player also made a lot of key contributions with her talent to the Fever's season.
Cunningham shot 43.2% from 3-point range in her first season with the Fever. She also averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
She hit free agency this offseason, which raised the suspense on what might happen for her next.
Where is Sophie Cunningham going in free agency?
Turns out, Cunningham isn't going anywhere. She's returning to the Fever.
ESPN's Alexa Philippou reported Sunday morning that Cunningham has signed a one-year deal to return to Indiana.

Clark will surely be happy about this news.
The Fever already secured the return of Kelsey Mitchell, and their roster is coming together nicely for the 2026 WNBA season.
