Daley Blind was a stalwart of the Netherlands national team for a long time.
At the 2026 FIFA World Cup, though, Blind isn't playing.
Blind is still playing club football. He suited up this season for Girona, which was relegated from La Liga in Spain.
He was never really in consideration for a Netherlands call-up, though.

Where is Daley Blind?
Blind is retired from international football.
He made that announcement in August of 2024.
Players often retire from the international game before the club game as they try to take one hectic responsibility off their plate.
“For 11 years, I did everything in my power to keep wearing that beautiful Orange shirt,” Blind said on social media at the time. “It has brought me so much, so many beautiful moments. I cherish them. A new, talented generation is emerging and after a good conversation with the national coach, it is time for me to fully focus on my club and my family.”

Blind played 108 matches at the senior level for his country.
He suited up at the 2014 World Cup, Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup.
Blind scored goals in the 2014 third-place match, and in the Round of 16 in 2022 against the United States.
He was a second-generation Netherlands international, after his father Danny Blind suited up for the Dutch, too.
