The College Football season is beginning to get very serious, as teams try to position themselves for a spot in the College Football Playoff. With just three weeks left in the regular season, every game is crucial to determining which 12 teams will have the chance to play for the National Championship.
While every conference will have vital games, the SEC may be the tightest conference as there are five SEC teams in the top 12 this week. Therefore, ESPN will be headed to the biggest SEC game of the week and the only matchup between two top-12 teams.
Here is what you need to know for "College GameDay" this weekend.

Where is ‘College GameDay’ location for Week 12?
- Location: Athens, Georgia
- Time: 9 a.m. ET
- Matchup: No. 7 Tennessee at No. 12 Georgia
This week's "GameDay" matchup will return to a familiar place when the Bulldogs face Tennessee.
This will be Georgia's third time on "GameDay" this year but each of the Bulldogs' previous two appearances were as road teams. Georgia is 1-1 in "GameDay" games this season, and it last hosted a "GameDay" broadcast last year against Ole Miss. As for Tennessee, the Volunteers played in a featured "GameDay" game once this season, when the Volunteers traveled to Norman and defeated Oklahoma.
Georgia has dominated this rivalry in recent memory, winning each of the last seven matchups between the two. However, the last time the Volunteers were the higher-ranked team in the game was 2016, which is also the last time Tennessee beat the Bulldogs.
While Georgia is ranked No. 12, the Bulldogs are currently the last team out of the field due to No. 13 Boise State projected to get an automatic spot with a conference championship. For No. 7 Tennessee, the Volunteers are currently projected to play Notre Dame in the postseason based on this week's College Football Playoff rankings.
