As the July 10 release of EA Sports College Football 26 gets closer and closer, more details on the video game are slowly coming to light.

Most recently, EA Sports revealed the 25 highest-rated teams in this year's game. The Michigan Wolverines cracked the list, coming in at #15.

The Wolverines have an overall rating of 85, which is the same as Arizona State (ranked #14), Ole Miss (#16), Oklahoma (#17), and Indiana (#18). The top-rated team is Alabama at 89 overall.

Given last season's 8-5 record, starting the 2025 season in the top 15 would likely be a well-received accolade for Michigan fans. This is a team that lost a handful of impact defensive starters to the NFL and needed to overhaul an offense that struggled mightily last year.

EA Sports also revealed the Top 25 offenses and defenses in the game. While Michigan's new additions at quarterback (Bryce Underwood), running back (Justice Haynes), and wide receiver (Donaven McCully, Anthony Simpson) were not enough to garner a top 25 rating, Michigan's defense is still considered by the game's developers as one of the toughest in the sport.

The Wolverine defense came in at 6th with an impressive 92 rating. This is tied with Georgia (#4), Ohio State (#5), Oregon (#7), LSU (#8), and Texas Tech (#9).

For those gamers that enjoy playing a suffocating style of defense and controlling the pace of the game, the Wolverines might just be the perfect team, especially as Underwood grows into his role at QB and looks to come out with an increased rating.
