Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, just a few weeks after he performed his farewell gift with Black Sabbath on July 5, 2025. The last performance reportedly took place in Birmingham, England, in front of thousands of fans.

His demise was announced by his family, who uploaded a statement that read:

"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."

No further details about Ozzy Osbourne’s death have been shared yet. However, it was well known that he had been dealing with health issues for a while.

In 2020, he revealed he had Parkinson’s after a fall, and in November 2023, he told Rolling Stone he had undergone multiple surgeries.

During the same interview, he also opened up about his consistent drug abuse early in his career. The singer credited his wife, Sharon Osbourne, for saving him. According to Ozzy:

"I do count my lucky stars. I don't know why I'm still here and I do sometimes think I'm on borrowed time. I said to Sharon the other day, 'What a great f*cking life we've had and what a great f*cking experience'."

According to reports by NBC News, Ozzy Osbourne also struggled with dyslexia as a child, which ultimately led him to drop out of school.

Fans had been flooding the social media platforms expressing condolences to the grieving family and sharing tributes to the late singer.

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart" - said Ozzy Osbourne on July 5 during his show last on Birmingham

As aforementioned, Ozzy Osbourne adorned the stage in Villa Park in Birmingham on July 5, along with the Black Sabbath band members, Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi, and Bill Ward. Addressing the massive crowd at the Back to the Beginning concert, which also reportedly was a charitable show, Ozzy said:

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You're the best, each and every one of you."

On that day, several other bands participated in the event. According to Loudwire, this included bands like Metallica, Guns N' Roses, and Tool, who performed their own sets, including an occasional Ozzy or Black Sabbath cover. Billboard reports suggested that the event raised about $190 million, which would be donated to the Birmingham Children's Hospital, Acorn Children's Hospice, and Cure Parkinson's.

According to Billboard, the Back to the Beginning concert became the highest-grossing charity concert, surpassing the 2025 FireAid concert that took place earlier this year. The director of the entire event reportedly was Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello. According to Loudwire, he said:

"It was over a year of hard work, but heavy metal was the music that made me love music and it was a labor of love. We raised a ton of money for a great cause and so many great musicians and bands, and fans all over the world paid tribute to the ALL TIME greats."

The Guardian reported that the event was set to open with a solo set by Ozzy and conclude with some legendary songs by the band. The concert that included features from several other bands went on for about ten hours. In May 2025, the rock singer told The Guardian:

"I’d love to say 'never say never', but after the last six years or so … it is time. I don't want to die in a hotel room somewhere. I want to spend the rest of my life with my family."

Kelly Osbourne got engaged at the last show of Ozzy Osbourne

Along with the huge success of the Back To The Beginning concert, another big moment was Kelly Osbourne getting engaged to her long-time boyfriend, Sid Wilson.

According to reports by The Mirror, once the show ended, the Osbourne family was given a surprise when Wilson proposed to Kelly. Kelly further uploaded the video of the proposal on her Instagram feed the very next day. While Wilson was in the middle of his proposal, Ozzy interrupted and playfully said:

"F*ck off! You're not marrying my daughter!"

Sid Wilson ended up laughing and eventually proposing to Kelly, who reportedly seemed quite shocked. She then nodded, suggesting a "yes".

Several celebrities like Black Sabbath band members, Alice Cooper, Elton John, and Judas Priest, had been paying tributes after the demise of Ozzy Osbourne.
