Nicki Minaj has suggested that a series of false police reports made against her home, incidents known as “swattings”, are linked to what she calls “political corruption.”
As reported by Complex on November 3, 2025, notes that the rapper made the remark in a now-deleted social-media response to a fan who had criticized her for supporting former U.S. President Donald Trump’s comments about Nigeria.
In her post, the Pink Friday artist said these situations put her family at risk and implied that they were motivated by political forces.
According to Complex, Minaj was most recently swatted in April 2025, when the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received a call claiming that an assault had taken place at her residence in the Hidden Hills area. Officers responded to the address, but the report was determined to be false.
Minaj was reportedly not at home during that incident, but earlier cases occurred while she was present with her young son. The singer’s public statements mark the first time she has directly connected those false reports to alleged political motives.
More about the alleged swatting incident at Nicki Minaj’s home
As reported by Complex, Nicki Minaj has experienced several separate swatting calls since 2023. In June 2023, an anonymous caller reported to child services that Minaj’s two-year-old son was being abused. Police visited her home, where they spoke with Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty. Authorities determined there was no evidence of abuse, confirming that the report had been flase.
Just a month later, in July 2023, the rapper’s home was reportedly targeted again. This time a 911 caller falsely claimed that the rapper had been shot. Officers arrived while Minaj was at home and quickly concluded that the report was fabricated.
Nearly two years later, in April 2025, another false report claimed an assault had occurred at the property. Law enforcement again found no validity to the claim. While police have not publicly identified any suspects in these cases, Complex notes that each of the calls was called a “swatting."
Nicki Minaj was targeted in a "swatting" hoax involving false claims of child abuse and a house fire. She is taking legal action and may press charges against those responsible.
Nicki Minaj has described the situations as traumatic because officers allgedly arrived with weapons drawn while her child was inside the home. The incidents have not, as of the reporting, resulted in any official statement from law enforcement linking the false calls to political motives.
More about Nicki Minaj's comments
Nicki Minaj’s remarks about “political corruption” came amid online reactions to her endorsement of Donald Trump’s recent comments about Nigeria. As reported by The Independent on November 3, 2025, Trump had threatened military action against Nigeria over what he described as the “slaughter” of Christians.
In response, Nicki Minaj posted on X (formerly Twitter) expressing “a deep sense of gratitude” after reading Trump’s message, saying
"We live in a country where we can freely worship God. No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion."The rapper's support prompted criticism from fans who argued that Trump’s comments and his broader policies were harmful to other minority groups, with some reportedly saying that the comments were a way to "weaponize religion" against others. Nicki Minaj answered by defending her position and referencing the repeated swatting incidents at her home.
She added that expecting someone “to stay oppressed, abused, targeted, harassed & consistently ignored by public figures who were supposed to be helping them” revealed misplaced priorities.
At the time of press, there have been no further developements regarding the swatting allegations.
