'When LeBron announces Cleveland today' update from NBA writer has Cavs fans ready to shout

11 hours ago 4

Every fanbase pursuing LeBron James in free agency is on edge about his decision.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have a little extra in the tank, though. After all, northeast Ohio is home. LeBron came home once already after leaving, and he led the Cavs to an NBA title.

At this point, if LeBron really came back, it'd be a joyous day.

And at least one NBA reporter, Josh Eberley, thinks Monday could be the day.

Eberley has written for NBA Canada and this publication, among others, and now he's staking his claim that James has made up his mind:

When LeBron announces Cleveland today; it’ll be the most competitive it has ever been. https://t.co/9rLTcCz52n

Eberley then got some pushback from one of his followers for posting something so bold.

So he made the case that he feels the information he has is rock solid:

If I’m wrong, I got fed some crazy stuff from some crazy places https://t.co/M2SoaAg3BI

The larger NBA insiders haven't quite hinted at such a move, but it also seems like LeBron would want to be in control here. That could lead to info being in unusual hands, which could lead to some non-standard leaks.

It doesn't feel like a situation where ESPN's Shams Charania is the first guy to know. He may still "break" the news, but King James wants to control his own narrative.

None of this means a return to Cleveland, and one announced on Monday, is a sure thing.

But every little snippet of information like this raises the suspense even a bit more for the Cavs faithful.
