The United States ended its sordid streak of losses against European opposition with a comfortable 2-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday night. The next side that awaits them could prove slightly harder to unlock.
The Americans will take on Belgium in the Round of 16, a rematch of the 2014 matchup that saw Tim Howard set the record for most saves in a World Cup match. This year's Red Devils team looks a little different to that version, although three members of its spine — Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne and Thibaut Courtois — remain 12 years later.
Mauricio Pochettino's side has had some hard luck in knockout stage games at the World Cup. What better side to exorcise its demons against than an aging Belgian bunch that have toiled at times during this year's tournament?
With that, here's what you need to know about the date and start time for the USMNT and Belgium's Round of 16 tilt.

USA vs Belgium history
The USMNT has faced off with Belgium on three occasions, two of which have taken place at the World Cup. In the inaugural tournament, an invite-only competition held in 1930, the USMNT down Belgium, 3-0, courtesy of goals from Bart McGhee, Tom Florie and Bert Patenaude.
Eighty-four years later, during the 2014 World Cup, the U.S. and Belgium met once more. The Red Devils emerged as 2-1 victors in the contest, moving onto the quarterfinals after Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku struck in extra time.
Belgium most recently dueled against the Americans in March of this year, falling 5-2 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The USMNT has looked far better than the Belgians thus far in the World Cup, although Rudi Garcia's side undoubtedly had a harder group than its Round of 16 adversaries.

USA record vs Europeans at World Cups
With its win over Bosnia and Herzegovina, the USMNT snapped its 10-game losing run against European opposition. Still, its record against European teams in the World Cup leaves plenty to be desired. The United States is 4-7-15 in World Cup matches against European opposition, having suffered defeat at the hands of Turkey earlier in this year's tourney as well as Netherlands in its last Round of 16 appearance.
Has the USA ever won a Round of 16 match?
The USMNT has one (1) Round of 16 victory under its belt, vanquishing CONCACAF rivals Mexico, 2-0, to secure entry into the tournament quarterfinals back in 2002. The Americans would fall to the Germans in the next round, ending their World Cup dream.
In addition to its toils against European sides, the USMNT has fallen in the knockout stage at the hands of Argentina (semifinals, 1930), Brazil (Round of 16, 1994), and Ghana (Round of 16, 2010).
