The New York Yankees' starting rotation is two members short to start the season.
Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon are both out as they recover from injuries. The good news is that both should be back relatively soon.
Cole missed the entirety of the 2025 MLB season after Tommy John surgery.
Rodon's injury flew a bit more under the radar, but he isn't available yet for the Yankees.

Why isn't Carlos Rodon pitching yet?
Rodon isn't pitching yet this season because he had left elbow surgery in October.
The surgery was done to remove a bone spur from his throwing elbow.
When is Carlos Rodon coming back?
Rodon is supposed to be back by the end of April.
He'll be a big addition to the Yankees rotation when he returns. Last season, he went 18-9 with a 3.09 ERA and 1.05 WHIP.
Rodon was available pretty much every time through the rotation, too, going 195.1 innings and striking out 203 hitters.
It was his best season with the Yankees.
