It’s spooky season, which means it’s high time that HBO‘s new horror series, IT: Welcome to Derry, comes out! The long-awaited prequel series to Andy Muschietti‘s popular IT movies will take Stephen King fans back a generation to learn all about the people Pennywise the Clown (Bill Skarsgård) terrorized before the iconic Losers’ Club took him on. So when does the IT: Welcome to Derry show come out?
IT: Welcome to Derry will delve into the history of Derry to show us just how much havoc the evil entity known as Pennywise wrecked before his ultimate demise. Fans of IT will already know that the eponymous villain wakes every 27 years to prey upon the children of the Maine town. The new HBO show looks at what happened 27 years before the events of the first IT film.
Military man Leroy Hanlon (Jovan Adepo) has moved to Derry with wife Charlotte (Taylour Paige) and son Will (Blake Cameron James) just in time to witness these horrors for himself. Joining him there, in this era, is the mysterious Dick Halloran (Chris Chalk), a character first introduced in The Shining, along with new characters General Shaw (James Remar), Rose (Kimberly Guerrero), and a gaggle of local kids ripe for Pennywise’s picking.
