Break out the Belmont Jewels; the final race in the Triple Crown is finally here.
Following the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, both of which were held in May, the Belmont Stakes 2026 is today, June 6.
For the third year in a row, the Belmont Stakes — typically held on Long Island, New York — will not take place at Belmont Park, but rather 190 miles north at Saratoga Race Course upstate. Belmont Park is currently in the midst of a $455 million renovation project that is not slated to end until fall 2026, so it will likely be ready for next year’s race.
Ahead the race, Renegade is the favorite, just as they were ahead of the Kentucky Derby, but the Kentucky Derby’s winner Golden Tempo is also slated to race in today’s Stakes.
