Super Bowl 60 will evoke memories of the classic battle between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks on the same stage 11 years earlier, but make no mistake: these are fresh faces taking the field in Santa Clara.
This Super Bowl is the first in 13 years to feature two head coaches and two starting quarterbacks without Super Bowl experience in their roles. While Patriots coach Mike Vrabel won three Super Bowls as a player and Seahawks QB Sam Darnold was on hand for one as a backup, the experience level of these two teams isn't close to what it was for the participants of the last Super Bowl between these two teams.
Patriots QB Drake Maye in particular is a new face on the Super Bowl stage, as he will become the second-youngest quarterback in NFL history to start a Super Bowl at just 23 and was still in high school when Tom Brady left New England six years ago.
While the quarterbacks will receive the bulk of the attention, the Patriots and Seahawks bring two vaunted defenses shaped in the image of their defensive-minded head coach. Points could be at a premium, but nothing is guaranteed as a wild NFL season comes to a close.
