The Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves are expected to be perhaps the closest series of the first round in the NBA playoffs, and Game 1 lived up to that hype.
While the Nuggets won 116-105 on Saturday, the game was pretty close throughout but decided by a the Nuggets outscoring the Timberwolves by 12 in the third quarter. The duo of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray combined for 55 points as the top two scorers in the game.
The Timberwolves used a more balanced attack, as all five starters had double-digit points, but only Anthony Edwards reached the 20-point mark for Minnesota. In Game 1, the Timberwolves got out to a 10-pint lead after the first quarter, but a 22-point swing in the next two quarters doomed the team.
However, this series is not over after one game, as the Timberwolves can get right back in it with a win in Game 2. Minnesota also has three home games later in the series which could help flip the series.
