Not everyone is a fan of racing, but even non-fans know the Indy 500. It's arguably the most popular racing competition in history.
It's time for the 109th annual Indy 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana.

Josef Newgarden is the two-time reigning champion and will look to win his third consecutive Indy 500. He starts in the 11th row with the 32nd overall spot. That's the second to last position in this year's field.
It's a notable drop-off from his previous starting positions. Newgarden was in the 17th spot in his 2023 victory and the third spot in last year's race.

The Indy 500 will begin at 12:45 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 25 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana. Driver introductions will take place at 11:47 a.m. ET, about an hour before the green flag at 12:45 p.m. ET.
