It's time for the 110th annual Indy 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and the grid is packed with enough high-stakes drama to fill all 200 laps.

Reigning race winner Alex Palou will lead the 33-car field to the green flag after capturing his second career Indy 500 pole position with a blistering 232.248 mph average. Flanking him on a powerhouse front row are 2016 champion Alexander Rossi—hungry for a second title a decade after his rookie triumph—and David Malukas, who has thrived in his new seat with Team Penske to secure a career-best P3 start.

But the eyes of the racing world will also be fixed further back in the field. Two-time Indy 500 winner Josef Newgarden will look to bounce back from a brutal qualifying session that left him on the inside of Row 8 in the 23rd spot, a massive drop-off from his front-row starting positions in years past.

He will have to battle through a dense mid-pack that features plenty of intrigue, including former Penske legend Will Power making his first Indy 500 start in Andretti Global colors (P19), and high-profile rookie Mick Schumacher — son of seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher — making his highly anticipated Brickyard debut from P27.

From front-row veterans hunting for history to deep-grid stars looking to carve their way to the front, the stage is set for a classic. The Sporting News has all the details on how to watch the Indy 500.
