Travis Kelce Finally Reveals Why He, Taylor Swift Chose MSG for Wedding
When it came to selecting their wedding venue, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce had some crucial requirements on their "Wi$h Li$t."
For starters, the space needed enough square footage to accommodate their 1,000-person guest list, the 14-time Grammy winner making it clear on The Graham Norton Show last October that she intended to include her whole squad.
"I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount, and people are on the bubble," explained the 36-year-old. "And you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them to see if they should be there. I’m not gonna do that."
Equally important, though, was that the venue not allow anyone to rudely barge in on the white veil occasion.
So, they ditched the rose garden for Madison Square.
"We wanted to do it somewhere where we could have a very intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions," Kelce explained on the Sept. 2 episode of his New Heights podcast of selecting New York City's famed arena. "We needed it to be a private feel."
And, yes, the team at the 820,000-square-foot sports and concert venue "went above and beyond to give us that," the Kansas City Chiefs' star tight end explained. "I can't thank everybody enough that showed up but also that helped put the show on. It was a very magical, magical night."
Mostly because the NFL standout, 36, was enchanted to see his hometown pals meet luminaries from Swift's industry of choice.
"It was so cool to see everyone from my childhood not only mesh with Taylor, but [the people] from her childhood and her family and friends," Kelce continued, "and people that she works with to people that we’ve encountered over the course of our career and who we just admire as people and have become good friends with now."

And, of course, before all of that, wedding singer officiant Adam Sandler set the tone for Kelce and the bride he wants to grow old with.
"He has been just the f--king best person on this planet," Kelce mused of the actor, who advised the duo to keep kissing. "For him to be up for getting ordained in the state of New York and marrying me and Taylor. The way he did it, the very Sandman style, giving us more than we could ever imagined in that moment knowing it was the biggest night of our lives."
Of course, Sandler's speech wasn't the only part of the July 3 evening that was actually romantic.
"It was insane," Kelce summed up. "It was a night we’ll never forget. Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up. From the vows to the seeing everyone to how much fun we had throughout the entire evening, and hearing that being relayed through everyone’s stories of that night—it was just so magical man, I wish it could have lasted longer than it did."
And now their sky is opalite.
Though Kelce had to get his head back in the game, reporting to training camp July 29, shortly after their Montana honeymoon, while Swift hopped to London to watch another bride float down the aisle like a pageant queen, the newlyweds have been making their own sunshine.
They don't necessarily want those three dogs that they call their kids, but they're pretty stoked with Wendy, the fluffy white Samoyed who made her modeling debut in Kelce's Tommy Hilfiger campaign.
As he put it to Vogue, "She lights up my day."
Of course, his bride tends to make the whole place shimmer as well.
As he heads into his 14th—and potentially final—NFL season, Kelce is already feeling like a winner.
While a fourth Super Bowl ring to accompany his newest bling would be nice, "Outside of the big games and my teammates and Chiefs Kingdom, it's definitely looking up and seeing my friends and family in the crowd," Kelce told Vogue of his career highlight reel. "That suite is always electric. Knowing everyone I love is in there just rocking with us every week. The support I have from them—it’s everything, man."
Of course, for the Ohio native, who recently purchased a lakefront home outside his Cleveland hometown, according to multiple outlets, loving Swift has been red from the beginning. Look back on the love story that started with Kelce's huge Hail Mary.

July 2023: Make the Friendship Bracelets
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's love story began in July 2023, when the singer's Eras Tour made a stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.
As a huge Swiftie, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end caught the show with hopes of giving Taylor a friendship bracelet with his number on it. However, he failed to complete the pass due to her pre-show rituals.
"I was disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings," Travis shared on the July 26 episode of his New Heights podcast. "So, I was a little butt-hurt I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her."

"I threw it out there, I threw the ball in her court," he shared on The Pat McAfee Show. "I told her, you know, 'I've seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead, you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one's a little more lit.' So, we'll see what happens in the near future."
