Gauntlet in Battlefield Redsec is a new battle royale game mode. This is a cutthroat, knockout-style elimination mode where players race to complete missions during matches. A total of eight squads are pitted against each other, where they partake in special missions ranging from decryption, extraction, territory domination, target protection, explosive transport, and more.

This article takes a look at the new game mode, Gauntlet, in Battlefield Redsec.

Gauntlet in Battlefield Redsec explained

Gauntlet in Battlefield Redsec presents a new challenge for players, as every round in a match is a different mode or mission. Players have to indulge in random modes like Deadlock, which is a multi-team version of King of the Hill, or Wreckage, which is inspired by the Rush mode.

The possibility of having an exact sequence of Gauntlet missions is rare, as the mode features eight types of missions. Before each mission, a miniature briefing takes place that details the rules of engagement and how points will be allocated.

Gauntlet in Battlefield Redsec follows the following four-mission sequence :

  • First mission: Eight squads
  • Second mission: Six squads
  • Third mission: Four squads
  • Final mission: Two squads

The combat zone for every mission is based on sections of Fort Lyndon and is curated for the number of remaining teams, meaning that the first mission will have the biggest combat zone, whereas the final mission will have a small combat area. The Second and Third Missions can be skipped in specific circumstances, like multiple squads forfeiting the Gauntlet by leaving early

In Season 1 of Battlefied Redsec, the Gauntlet mode will feature eight mission types. It will also include an admission mission called Rodeo, which will be added during the Season. The Gautlet mode will have the same classes as Battlefield 6 Multiplayer, where players will be able to use the same loadouts across all modes.

If a player quits and their team is eliminated, then there's a chance that the remaining players will be assigned to a new Gauntlet team. Reassignment ensures all teams have four active participants throughout the entire match. The mode will reward the top players from teams with teammates who abandoned them mid-game.

After completing every mission, all teams, including the eliminated teams, will be checked for open spots. If there is an open spot on a surviving team, then the Reassignment will be activated. This guarantees that no player is left behind, and the next mission will have the correct number of squads. Full squads of four who advance to the next mission will not be reassigned in Gauntlet in Battlefield Redsec.

As explained before, each round in Gauntlet is a different mode or mission. According to the official BF6 intel blog, the Gayntlet matches could result in over 70,000 possible combinations. Every mission offers one point for every kill and revive. Reviving a teammate will reward players with one point while also denying a point from the enemy team.

Across all missions, points are doubled in the last minute of that mission. This means that if a mission rewards a squad with one point for every kill, a squad will get two points per elimination during the last minute of the mission. Some missions, like the Heist, are only playable as a final quest between two squads and are not playable and do not show up in the first, second, or third missions.

Here are all eight available Gauntlet missions, as well as when they can appear in a Gauntlet match:
