YouTuber Cody "WhistlinDiesel" is recognized for his automobile content, which features monster truck stunts, car modifications, demolitions, and more. Recently, the YouTuber has been in the news, not for his YouTube-related content, but for an alleged criminal offence, one involving tax evasion. On November 12, certain arrest records depicted Cody as under custody with a $2 million bond.

Details of the arrest mentioned Cody's physical characteristics, his mugshot, and noted that he was being held at the Williamson County Sheriff's Department. In the "Charges" section of the arrest report, "TAX EVASION" was mentioned in all caps. Netizens reacted, wondering if his arrest was a result of a scheme the YouTuber cooked up.

Some also mentioned the arrest to be good news for Cody's fellow platform member, Stephen "Coffeezilla," who, in August 2025, publicly accused WhistlinDiesel of promoting dubious Forex day-trading practices. Diesel defended himself as having "just tried day-trading as a beginner," sparking an online feud.

Interestingly, the comments section under this post sheds more light on the situation. In a follow-up message, Cody denied any wrongdoing, saying:

"I didn’t do ANYTHING."

Speculation that the arrest involved lackluster work from the YouTuber's accountant started circulating on the internet after Cody liked a post from user @_dondanke_ who commented:

"Blame the accountant."

The post also featured multiple police officers guiding a handcuffed Cody to a police car. Notably, in October 2022, he posted photos of himself and two friends in handcuffs in Georgia. The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office later confirmed they were collaborating with him on the scene for a YouTube video.
