The New York Mets have the worst record in Major League Baseball this season, and things are seemingly only getting worse.
Even though Juan Soto is back, Francisco Lindor is now on the injured list and set to miss more than a month. And another star player is set to join him on the IL soon.
According to SNY insider Chelsea Janes, the Mets are expected to place Luis Robert Jr. on the injured list on Thursday, as they sustain another blow to a disastrous season.
What happened to Luis Robert Jr.?
"Hearing Luis Robert Jr. likely headed to the IL today, per person familiar with his situation," Janes reports. "Joins Lindor and Polanco on a growing list."
The Mets' outfielder has missed a few games lately as he's dealing with a back issue that isn't going away.
It was reported he was set for an MRI yesterday, and now a day later, it looks likely that Robert will land on the injured list and miss some time.

The 28-year-old the Mets acquired from the Chicago White Sox this offseason in a trade was hitting .224 with two homers and eight RBIs through 24 games this season.
But now, he's set to hit the injured list due to a back issue, joining Lindor and Jorge Polanco on the injured list for the Mets.
It's another tough blow for the Mets, as they're now going to be down another key slugger for an extended period of time. At 10-20, the Mets are in total meltdown, and things aren't getting any better with this injury update.
