K-pop artist HyunA fainted during her set at the Waterbomb music festival in Macau on November 9, 2025. She was performing Bubble Pop! when she suddenly lost consciousness. Her dancers moved toward her instantly, and a security guard lifted her off the platform. Hours later, she posted a black image on Instagram with a written message to fans.

In it, the soloist penned that she has little memory of the incident and apologised for not meeting her own standards. The Trouble Maker singer singled out fans who travelled to Macau and those who paid to attend. She also asked fans not to worry, thanking them for supporting her since she was young.

#HyunA fainted in the middle of her performance at Waterbomb in Macau. She later posted an apology to the fans who had come from far away and paid to see her, but an unexpected incident occurred. Here’s her apology post:> “I’m truly sorry. I wanted to show my best, but I feel that I was unprofessional. Honestly, I don’t even remember anything. Many fans came all the way to Macau, and everyone paid to watch me. I’m really, really sorry. From now on, I’ll work on building up my stamina and keep doing my best. From when I was very young until now, you’ve praised me, supported me, and loved me even though I’m lacking. Thank you for that. And I’m really fine! Please don’t worry about me. I hope everyone has a good night… sleep well.”— HyunA 💗

The Korean idol vowed to work on her stamina and to look after her health going forward. Social media is filled with messages urging the artist to prioritise recovery.

Videos captured by people in the crowd spread across social networks soon after, leading to widespread concern. The reaction amplified because the 33-year-old had recently disclosed major weight changes.

Early last month, she posted on Instagram about following a strict diet. Days later, the star stated she had reduced roughly 10 kilograms in one month, bringing her weight into the 40-kilogram range. Commenters urged rest and sent supportive notes, requesting her to take care.

Meanwhile, others claim that she lost 10 kg after receiving comments calling her “fat,” which pushed her to lose weight, ultimately leading to this situation.

She lost 10 kg because of the bad comments calling her "fat" it really is worrying how far bad comments can take you and the way they have so much influence on idols, Hyuna i just hope you take better care of yourself, stay healthy and happy!

It’s heartbreaking seeing HyunA like this. She worked so hard to find balance to eat well and be happy and people still dragged her for gaining weight. That same hate made her lose 10kg in one month, and now she’s fainted on stage.

Will this be a sign for you guys to finally leave her alone, if you dislike her, she block her on your social media. I’ve seen too many people laugh at this which is really gross. You guys are bullying her and destroying someone’s mental health, you never learn.

In an interview with Rain on Season B Season, HyunA had talked publicly about dealing with vasovagal syncope. It is a disease linked to a sudden fall in blood pressure due to vasodilation and slowed heart rate.

“[Back then] I didn't eat at all. I starved for a week. If my weight fell below a certain point, I would faint due to vasovagal syncope," she explained.

She also delayed a comeback in 2020 due to the condition returning. Following the Macau incident, fans expressed concern that her fast weight loss may have triggered another bout of vasovagal syncope. On November 10, her agency, AT AREA, released a brief update saying that she is currently resting to recover.

Kim Hyun-ah first entered the industry in 2007 with Wonder Girls and later re-debuted through 4Minute. She then established a solo career with tracks such as Bubble Pop!, Red, and Because I’m the Best. After marrying singer Yong Jun-hyung last year, she has regularly shared moments from her newlywed life through social media.
