DeWanna Bonner and the Indiana Fever appear ready to part ways.
Front Office Sports reports that Bonner, who has been away from the team for "personal reasons," is not interested in returning and would like to move on. According to the report, the veteran forward would prefer to play for either the Dream or Mercury next.
Bonner signed a one-year deal with Indiana in the offseason and was expected to help bolster the team's defense this year. The 37-year-old played has played in nine games for the Fever, starting three, but last appeared in a contest on June 10.

According to Front Office Sports, Bonner and the Fever have had an "off" fit since the forward joined the team. Bonner expected to be a starter, but she's only started three games, with those games being the first three of the season.
Over the course of her career, Bonner has started 402 of a possible 511 games and only came off the bench in 12 games between 2012 and 2024.
Instead, the Fever elevated shooting guard Lexie Hull to the starting group, opting for a smaller lineup that includes one of their best shooters. Bonner was the forward relegated to the bench instead of Aaliyah Boston or Natasha Howard, both of whom have started every game this year.

Bonner is currently on a one-year deal worth $200,000 that she signed with Indiana in the offseason.
