The Washington Commanders turned to backup quarterback Marcus Mariota on Sunday with Jayden Daniels inactive, and they nearly had to turn to a backup head coach.
Dan Quinn absorbed a huge hit from Mariota, who was shoved out of bounds, late in the first half against the Las Vegas Raiders, with the veteran quarterback landing on his coach.
Moments later, a bloodied but unbowed Quinn was back on his feet to celebrate a long Matt Gay field goal that stretched Washington's lead to two possessions.
Here's a look at how Quinn's face was injured on Sunday.

What happened to Dan Quinn?
Mariota was shoved out of bounds by Raiders safety Tristin McCollum late in the first half, but it was Quinn who took the brunt of it. Mariota slammed into Quinn, knocking off his coach's headset and sending him to the ground.
The back of Quinn's head appeared to bounce off the ground, raising concern for his health, but the 55-year-old was able to get right back up and continue coaching through the end of the half.
