The AFC North has had a busy day when it comes to trades. The Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals completed an in-division trade earlier on Tuesday, as the Browns dealt Joe Flacco to the Bengals. Now, Flacco's former team is getting in on the action.
The Baltimore Ravens are sending former first-round pick Odafe Oweh to the Los Angeles Chargers. In exchange, the Ravens will receiver safety Alohi Gillman and a 2026 fifth-round pick. Baltimore is also sending a future seventh-round pick to the Chargers.
Are the Ravens embracing a losing season?
With all of the injuries to the Ravens' defense already (Roquan Smith, Kyle Hamilton Nnamdi Madubuike, Marlon Humphrey), as well as Lamar Jackson likely missing another game. Should Jackson miss the Ravens' Week 6 contest against the Rams, Baltimore will all but certainly be 1-5. If and when that does happen, perhaps the Ravens are embracing a losing season in hopes of landing a top draft pick to add a potential star to their roster.
With all of the issues the Ravens have on defense, the skill on offense hasn't mattered thus far. Baltimore scored 30+ points in all three of their first three games, and yet only went 1-2. Now at 1-4, with both injuries and losses stacking, having an eye towards 2026 isn't the craziest thing in the world.
