At first, this first-round matchup looked comfortable for Spurs fans. Through the first half of Game 1, this was no exception, with the Spurs out to a lead as high as 16 points.

Once the second half rolled around, however, the Trail Blazers showed that this was a tight game after all, closing the lead to 2 at one point. In the end, the Spurs pulled away, clinching a double-digit victory, 111-98.

The Spurs had a monstrous effort from Victor Wembanyama in Game 1, as he scored 35 points with five rebounds and two blocks. De'Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle both had strong games as well, combining for 34 points and 15 assists.

Portland was also reliant on its star, with Deni Avdija dropping a 30-point double-double. The Blazers performed well off the bench as well, combining for 29 points and 12 rebounds. In Game 2, it'll be up to the Blazers to produce more scoring out of the rest of their starting five.
