For the first time in 19 years, the Detroit Pistons have captured the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
Their opponents? The No. 8 seeded Orlando Magic. Paolo Banchero, Desmond Bane and company have had their recent struggles, but after beating the Hornets in the final East Play-In game, Orlando is continuing its postseason run.
The Pistons last won a playoff series in 2008, when sophomore forward Ron Holland was just two years old. This makes the franchise hungrier than ever for another deep run, something many young Pistons fans have yet to experience. And as the top seed? They are bound to be the heavy favorites over the Magic.
Orlando, which won 45 games in the regular season, will look to lean on Banchero, Bane and Franz Wagner in its matchup against the Eastern Conference's best team all year.
