The San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants continue their four-game weekend series Friday with a game set to air live nationally.

With the trade deadline looming Monday, the Padres are just outside the NL postseason picture, which typically would prompt always-active general manager A.J. Preller to make a flurry of moves. The players already in the clubhouse are doing their best to encourage additions as they come off sweeps of the Marlins and Rockies ahead of this series.

The Giants, however, remain on the outside looking in despite an impressive series win against the NL Central-leading Brewers earlier this week. San Francisco will unload, if anything, ahead of the deadline as the franchise stares down what could well be its worst season in nearly a decade.

Who will continue the weekend series with a win? Here's everything you need to know to watch.
