No. 19 SMU will finally kick off its season Monday night — the last of the 138 FBS teams to do so — with a trip to Tallahassee to face Florida State.

Starting the year with an ACC game bodes well for the Mustangs, who have a league-best 14-2 conference record in their two seasons as members. This will be their first trip to Doak Campbell Stadium and the prime-time atmosphere figures to be wild, but they also dominated the Seminoles in Dallas two years ago.

The Mustangs will lean on quarterback Kevin Jennings, a third-year starter who posted strong numbers last season in throwing for 3,363 yards and 26 touchdowns, as they try to win their opener for the eighth straight year.

FSU already has a win under its belt, downing New Mexico State 34-17 in Week 0. The Seminoles showcased a balanced attack last week, with 217 yards on the ground led by 115 from Ousmane Kromah, who averaged 8.2 yards per carry. QB Ashton Daniels threw for 202 yards with a TD and an interception, and ran for another score.

Can the 'Noles keep building momentum or will the Mustangs rack up yet another season-opening victory? Here's all you need to know to watch.
