Shedeur Sanders is first up in the Cleveland Browns' quarterback competition this week, getting the preseason start at home against the Buffalo Bills.
Sanders and Deshaun Watson remain listed as co-No. 1s by Browns coach Todd Monken, who gave Watson the start last week against the Bears. Watson (11 of 15, 126 yards) led a pair of first-half scoring drives, and that was all the offense Cleveland managed in a 34-10 loss.
Sanders completed 6 of 11 passes for 79 yards with an interception during his stint before giving way to Dillon Gabriel to finish out the game. He'll try to take advantage of the additional playing time Saturday to make a better impression before Monken makes his decision on who will start Week 1 of the regular season.
On the other side, the Bills are expected to sit Josh Allen and most of the rest of their starters, which should mean plenty of Kyle Allen and Shane Buechele under center.
