Sixty years to the day after the Braves played their first home game in Atlanta, they will host a nationally televised showcase against Cleveland on Sunday.
Both teams are off to strong starts to open 2026, and Atlanta will be looking to close out the weekend series on a high note as it sends ace left-hander Chris Sale to the mound. The 2024 Cy Young winner was stellar in his first two starts this season (12 IP, four hits, one run, nine strikeouts) before the Angels got to him for six runs in four innings his last time out.
A Guardians lineup led as always by Jose Ramirez will attempt to do the same Sunday. Though the perennial All-Star and Silver Slugger winner hasn't yet found his groove at the plate this season, it's only a matter of time before everything clicks. In the meantime, rookie Chase DeLauter has been one of MLB's top power threats through the first two weeks of the season.
Cleveland will give the ball to Tanner Bibee, who has a 3.29 ERA through three starts, walking five and striking out 14 in 13.2 innings.
Who will prevail Sunday in the national spotlight? Here's everything you need to know to watch.
