All-American guard Mark Sears scored 15 points and dished out six assists in the loss, but he struggled from the field, connecting on just five of his 15 attempts.
Illinois jumped into the AP poll for the first time this season after defeating Oakland on Wednesday. Sophomore center Tomislav Ivisic led the way in the 66-54 victory with 20 points, six rebounds and four steals.
