President Trump's remarks against director Rob Reiner following his death stirred debate online on Monday. For the unversed, the veteran filmmaker and his wife were found dead at their Los Angeles home on Sunday. As Reiner's death news surfaced on the web, tributes poured in from Hollywood and the political circles.

President Trump also wrote an RIP post on Truth Social. However, in the post, the POTUS slammed the late filmmaker for his frequent criticisms. In the post, Donald Trump remarked that Reiner was afflicted with "Trump Derangement Syndrome." The post prompted online scrutiny and many of his own supporters considered it objectionable.

However, the president reaffirmed his comments when, later in the day, a reporter asked him about the ongoing criticisms surrounding his post.

"He became like a deranged person. Trump derangement syndrome, so I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all in any way, shape, or form. I thought he was very bad for our country," the president responded.

Pop culture commentator and podcaster Andy Signore blasted President Trump after he doubled down on what he posted. While sharing a clip of the president's remark, Signore wrote:

"Omg Trump doubled down on the Rob Reiner hate?! This is disgusting. What a sad, hateful, little man… Anyone defending this: YOU are the problem. Well now when Trump dies… he just gave all his critics permission to share this same sentiment."

Signore received many comments defending President Trump. The Popcorned Planet host hit back at those users in a separate post. While sharing the two screenshots, he wrote:

"MAGA cult supporters so blinded by hate, that they defend Trump’s disgraceful comments about Rob Reiner & his wife’s murder are destroying America. They’re now falsely declaring Rob Reiner a p3do, when it was Trump who admitted to wanting to date his own daughter."

Andy Signore shares a clip of James Woods discussing Rob Reiner as he continues tirade against Trump

The podcaster added to his criticism of President Trump by sharing a clip of James Woods' recent interview. For context, Woods, a known supporter of the incumbent U.S. President, appeared on Fox News on Monday. In his interview, he got emotional and slammed the negative comments about the deceased director.

In his X post, Signore shared a clip from Woods' interview and wrote:

"Scary his cult lost any signs of empathy. Thankfully many conservatives are calling it out props James Woods"

In his interview, James Woods remembered Rob Reiner and called him a "patriot." While Woods noted that he did not agree with Reiner’s political beliefs, he rebuked "horrible" attacks on him following his death. The actor stated that when Charlie Kirk was assassinated, many people said negative things about him but Rob Reiner "did not."

"When people say horrible things about Rob right now, I find it quite frankly infuriating and distasteful. Did I agree with his politics? I did not. Did I love him as a friend, as an artist, as an icon of Hollywood, and as a patriot? I most certainly did," James Woods said.

The filmmaker and his wife's bodies were found with knife lacerations. Nick Reiner, the son of the deceased couple, was arrested hours after the bodies were found.
