The NBA Finals are far from over.

Behind a dominant performance from Victor Wembanyama and clutch late-game execution, the San Antonio Spurs defeated the New York Knicks 115-111 in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night at Madison Square Garden. The victory trimmed New York’s series lead to 2-1 and gave San Antonio its first win of the championship series.

Wembanyama once again showcased why he is considered one of the league’s brightest stars, finishing with 32 points on 11-of-18 shooting while adding seven rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots. The Spurs also received a major contribution from Stephon Castle, who scored 23 points and delivered one of the game’s biggest shots.

With less than a minute remaining and the Spurs clinging to a four-point lead, Castle buried a contested 26-foot three-pointer as the shot clock expired, extending San Antonio’s advantage to 111-104 and silencing the Madison Square Garden crowd.

New York refused to go away. Jalen Brunson, who finished with 32 points, knocked down a pull-up three-pointer to cut the deficit to 111-108 with just seconds remaining. However, De’Aaron Fox responded immediately, sinking a clutch 15-foot jumper in the lane with 12.2 seconds left to push the lead back to five points and effectively seal the victory.

Fox finished with 12 points and eight assists, while Dylan Harper added 13 points and Jordan Clarkson contributed 10 off the bench. San Antonio’s balanced attack and timely shot-making helped overcome a spirited effort from the Knicks.

OG Anunoby scored 28 points for New York, while Brunson continued his stellar Finals play. Despite shooting 45% from the field and 35% from three-point range, the Knicks were hurt by turnovers.

The road team has now won all three games in the series. Game 4 is scheduled for Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden, where the Spurs will look to even the series and shift momentum completely in their favor.
