GAMES OF THE WEEK

Rasean Jones put on a show Friday night that will probably be talked about in the hallways of Rocky Mountain High School for years to come.

The Boise State commit exploded for 347 all-purpose yards and six touchdowns, carrying the second-ranked Grizzlies to a wild 55-49 homecoming victory over No. 22 Capital in a game that featured 1,084 combined yards of offense.

Jones, a transfer from Baker City, Oregon, turned 11 carries into 199 rushing yards and five touchdowns while adding a kickoff return for a score. The three-time Oregon state hurdle champion saved his best for last, ripping off 140 yards and three touchdowns in the fourth quarter alone on scoring runs of 22, 66 and 41 yards.

Rocky Mountain (4-0, 1-0 6A SIC) needed every explosive play as Capital refused to fold. The Eagles got a monster performance from sophomore Quincey Clay, who tallied 335 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns of his own, including a 99-yard kick return and 11 catches for 154 yards.

Capital quarterback Brayden Dudley kept pace with 452 passing yards and five touchdowns, but the Eagles (2-2, 0-1) couldn't get the defensive stops needed to complete the upset.

NO. 5 HILLCREST 25, NO. 6 SKYLINE 19

What looked like a routine blowout turned into one of the wildest finishes of the high school football season Friday night.

Hillcrest dominated for 46 minutes, building a 25-0 lead over Skyline before the Grizzlies nearly pulled off the comeback of the year in the final two minutes of this 5A State Championship rematch.

The Knights (4-0, 2-0) controlled the game behind quarterback Tyson Sweetwood, who accounted for three touchdowns, and a defense that shut down Skyline's explosive offense. Kicker Rylan Borgmann added two field goals, including a 42-yarder.

But Skyline (3-1, 1-1) refused to quit. The Grizzlies scored on a Zyan Crockett end-around pass, then pulled off back-to-back onside kick recoveries that both resulted in touchdowns, cutting the deficit to 25-19 with under a minute left.

The packed crowd held its breath as Skyline attempted a third consecutive onside kick, but Hillcrest recovered and ran out the clock to preserve the victory.

Sweetwood finished with 163 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns, and 98 passing yards with another score to lead the Knights to their fourth straight win.

NO. 13 MADISON 32, NO. 24 BLACKFOOT 24

The Bobcats (3-2) rode a balanced offensive attack and opportunistic defense to a road victory over Blackfoot Friday night.

They controlled the ground game behind running back Brock Hammond, who churned out 143 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries. Quarterback Micah Dougherty was efficient through the air, completing 12-of-14 passes for 154 yards and two scores.

Dougherty's favorite target was Baden Wheeler, who hauled in four catches for 76 yards and a touchdown in the victory.

Madison's defense came up with key stops when needed, forcing three turnovers that proved to be the difference in the eight-point win. The Broncos (2-2) managed just 244 total yards and couldn't overcome the miscues in the loss.
