Jenna Ortega Debuts No-Eyebrow Look on ‘Wednesday’ Red Carpet
Despite their altogether ooky demeanors onscreen, the Wednesday cast have a lot of love to give.
In fact, the stars of the Netflix series, including Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers and Joy Sunday, are so close, their group chats number in the teens.
As Emma revealed to E! News in an exclusive interview, “There’s too many,” to which Joy added, “Yeah there’s about 18.”
But for Joy—who plays siren Bianca in the series—there’s a simple explanation for the many group threads. “You know how when you save a file in your computer and it’s like, ‘Final-final-final?’” she actress continued. It’s pretty much a bunch of those group chats. We just keep making them and renaming them.” (For more from the Wednesday cast, tune into E! News August 4 at 11 p.m.)
As for what exactly goes down in the many chats, Emma—the actress behind Wednesday’s werewolf roommate Enid—revealed the content is actually pretty mundane for a group of outcasts.
“Most of them are like failed dinner plans,” she joked, with Joy emphasizing, “Or have like one message in it.”
The duo also detailed how working on the first season, which was filmed in Romania, bonded the cast for life.

“We were all in a country we’d never been to,” Emma noted. “We only had each other. So I think the only thing to do was go to each other’s apartments and hang out. And I think that’s what formed our unusually close bond.”
That, and the similar circumstances of much of the younger actors as they signed onto the project.
As Joy explained, “We all kind of came in at the same place. Aside from Jenna, we were all kind of coming into this as a first time experience, and because of that really bonded in season one.”
“Coming back to season two was such a wonderful reunion,” she added. “And also everybody’s lives had changed so much. So it’s been lovely that we’ve been able to maintain that sense of camaraderie and togetherness.”

While details about season two of the Tim Burton series have remained scarce, Jenna previously teased just a little about what fans can expect.
“We ended season one with a stalker that was still after me. Tyler has been sent to a psych ward, and half the school is burnt down,” she told Tudum in March 2024. “We start off season two with Wednesday being kidnapped.”
The first part of Wednesday season two premieres on Netflix August 6, followed by part two September 3. For more shows premiering this summer, keep reading.
