"We Killed The Snake" - Mavericks Fans Beg Luka Doncic to Come Back After Lakers Star Flexes with IG Post Following Nico Harrison Exit

Dallas Mavericks fans are asking Luka Doncic to return to the franchise after Nico Harrison was fired on Tuesday. Doncic seemingly celebrated Harrison's exit by sharing some pictures from the LA Lakers' 121-111 win over the Charlotte Hornets the previous day.

In an Instagram post, Doncic shared images of himself from Monday's game in Charlotte. The highlight of the post was possibly his rare dunk over Hornets big man Moussa Diabate, which has garnered a lot of reactions from teammates and fans.

While the timing of Doncic's post was after a Lakers' win, it coincided with the Mavericks' firing of Harrison. After dropping to 3-8 to start the season, team governor Patrick Dumont decided to fire his general manager just nine months after he traded "Luka Magic" to the Lakers.

Luka Doncic, who has 10.6 million followers on Instagram, was flooded with comments from Dallas Mavericks fans to return to Texas. While Nico Harrison's exit has been celebrated by the Mavs fanbase, the damage has been done, and possibly permanent.

Nevertheless, here are some of the best comments on Doncic's IG post.

"Feel free to come back when you want. We killed the snake. Love forever, 77," a fan wrote. "Come back home," one fan commented. "Got rid of Nico for you pops, come back now," another fan remarked. "Back to Dallas," a fan hoped. "The bad man is gone Luka please come back," one fan quipped. "Luka my grandma said she’ll make you homemade meals she just wants you to come back and play for the Mavs bro please," another fan begged.

The bad news for Mavericks fans is that Doncic signed a three-year extension with the Lakers in the offseason. He can't be a free agent until 2028 if he opts out of the final year of his contract.

Luka Doncic named winner after Nico Harrison's firing

USA Today's Lorenzo Reyes dropped his winners and losers following the Dallas Mavericks' decision to fire general manager Nico Harrison. The first person he tagged as a winner was none other than Luka Doncic, whom he called vindicated because of Harrison's exit.

Doncic slimmed down ahead of his first full season with the LA Lakers and has looked like the best version of himself. He's averaging 37.1 points, 9.4 rebounds, 9.1 assists and 1.7 steals per game for the 8-3 Lakers.

While Doncic could have done the same thing in Dallas, his relationship with Harrison was not good. The former Mavs GM reportedly got rid of anyone Doncic liked, so it was a bad combination at that point.
