On Tuesday, November 4th at 5:15 p.m., the UPS aircraft burst into a huge fireball shortly after takeoff, killing at least 9 people. The Hawaii-bound aircraft was carrying three crew members and 50,000 gallons of jet fuel – when it crashed just 13 minutes after taking off from Louisville’s Muhammad Ali International Airport. It hit a petroleum recycling plant roughly three miles south of the airfield and the resulting fire was still raging hours later.
