Olympic gymnast Simone Biles has always been supportive of her husband and Chicago Bears safety, Jonathan Owens. On Sunday, she took on a surprising new role in the NFL during the team's showdown against the San Francisco 49ers.

In a post shared by the league's official social media account, Simone Biles is seen wearing a media vest with a camera in her hand on the sidelines. She was at Levi's Stadium as an official guest photographer while cheering her husband on the field.

"Hey guys, I'm Simone Biles. And we're here at Sunday Night Football where the Bears take on the 49ers. And I'm gonna be taking some photographs," the gymnast said.

This new role gave Simone Biles the opportunity to engage with her husband's profession in a deeper way, rather than just watching the game from the VIP stand. The couple, who have been dating since 2020, got engaged in February 2022 after the Bears safety proposed to her.

In April 2023, Biles and Owens got married in an intimate courthouse ceremony after getting their marriage license. A month later, the couple threw a lavish destination wedding in Mexico, where they exchanged vows in front of 150 guests.

Jonathan Owens is in the middle of his second year with the Chicago Bears. The veteran safety began his NFL career in 2018 after signing with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent. He then went on to spend two seasons with the Texans before playing for the Green Bay Packers during the 2023 season.

So far in seven seasons, Owens has recorded 295 total tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, three tackles for loss, and two quarterback hits. This year, he has tallied 19 total tackles in 15 appearances for Ben Johnson's team.

Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles share snippets from their Christmas celebrations

The Bears did not have a game during Christmas this year. This allowed Jonathan Owens to spend some quality time making holiday memories with his wife.

On Instagram, Simone Biles shared photos of herself in matching pyjamas with Jonathan Owens during Christmas. In one of the snippets, they had Will Ferrell's iconic Christmas movie "Elf" playing in the background. The 11-time Olympic medalist shared holiday greetings for her fans in the caption.

"Happy Holidays from me & mine to you & yours," Biles wrote.

The Chicago Bears already won the NFC North division after the Packers lost 41-24 to the Ravens on Saturday. This will be Jonathan Owens' first playoff appearance since 2023.
