The Rays need the bats to get going to get back into the World Series, but their defense was spectacular in the second inning of Game 3.

Moments before a caught-stealing ended the Brewers' threat, Chandler Simpson saved extra bases with a terrific catch in left field on a line drive by Sal Frelick.

Simpson went full-speed into the wall but was able to get back up and stay in the game after taking a moment to collect himself.

Here's a look at Simpson's outstanding grab.

Interviewed by Ken Rosenthal in the bottom of the inning, Simpson said holding onto the ball took away some of the pain from the collision.

"It didn't feel too good, but it felt better knowing I made the catch," Simpson said.

Offense is needed more than anything for the Rays at this stage of the World Series, but having an athlete like Simpson in the outfield certainly doesn't hurt.
