McLaren's star driver, Lando Norris, was surprised by the team on his 26th birthday. The Brit celebrated his birthday on 13th November 2025, and the papaya team had a small surprise for him at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking.

Lando Norris has been driving exceptionally well in the ongoing 2025 F1 season. He has been putting in consistent performances, and this has given him a 24-point buffer over his teammate Oscar Piastri (P2) in the drivers' championship.

During last week's Brazilian Grand Prix race weekend, he was on it from the get-go and didn't put even a single foot wrong. In the main 72-lap race, he came away with an impressive win and was over 10 seconds ahead of the second-placed Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli.

Norris is in a good frame of mind heading into the last three races of the 2025 F1 season, and with him having his birthday yesterday, McLaren came up with a pleasant surprise for him. During the same time, Norris added:

"You guys, jeez...didn't have to do this. Well guys, thank you very much. I'll have one of these, Victorian Sponge. Unbeatable."

The 2025 Formula 1 season is 21 rounds down, and Lando Norris has so far managed 390 points with seven Grand Prix wins, 17 podium finishes. Next up on the race calendar is the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

"Nice to win here in Brazil": Lando Norris on Interlagos triumph

While Lando Norris was recently surprised by the McLaren team on his 26th birthday, the Brit sounded ecstatic following the end of last week's Brazilian Grand Prix. As indicated already, he won the event in a dominant and following the end of the race, he added:

"Crazy race! Nice to win here in Brazil. It's an amazing track, amazing fans. This was for one of my mentors Gil [de Ferran]. A perfect weekend."

Interestingly, despite winning the race, Norris was not fully satisfied.

"It's a great win. But seeing how quick Max was, it's disappointing we were not quicker. That's where my mind is at the minute. I will see the team, congratulate them, and see why we were not quick enough. There's a long way to go. It can change so quickly. I will focus on myself, keep my head down, ignore everyone and keep pushing."

Lando Norris is chasing his maiden Formula 1 drivers' championship. Having a 24-point buffer with only three races remaining, Norris is in the driving seat, but he can't afford any DNFs.

Any such incident could jeopardize his current grip on the championship. Title rivals Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen will try their best to close down the gap in the remaining races.

Keeping in view everything that has been discussed, the upcoming races from Las Vegas onwards will all be must-see. The Las Vegas event will kick off next week on 20th November.
