A top AEW star arrived at the big spectacle show in Mexico for a huge tag team showdown. Amidst a thrilling encounter, he found himself involved in a major botch that looked devastating, and the people calling the action were also at a loss for words.
The star involved, who is a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, was Josh Alexander. Grand Slam Mexico this week opened with an explosive multi-man tag team bout pitting top AEW and CMLL stars against each other.
It featured an assembled squad of Adam Cole, Atlantis Jr., Bandido, Brody King, Daniel Garcia, and Templario battling the formidable team of Dax Harwood, Don Callis Family (Hechicero, Josh Alexander, Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher, and Lance Archer), and Volador Jr.
The match showcased multiple in-ring styles inside the squared circle. However, there was one botched move that might prove catastrophic for Josh Alexander. During a particular spot, he was on the top rope with Templario, who was looking to deliver a move on The Walking Weapon by trying to pick him up.
However, he failed to do so, and the duo fell back in the ring, with Alexander landing in a very awkward position, which looked devastating. The botched landing appeared so bad that AEW commentator Nigel McGuinees almost swore on national television as well.
Moreover, adding insult to injury, Alexander's side also lost the match. While there is no official word, it remains to be seen if the former TNA star walked away unscathed or suffered an injury.
