Jey Uso has been yeeted from the ring.
Indeed, WWE fans were stunned when the wrestler (a.k.a. the Yeet Master) was attacked backstage by an unknown assailant during the Feb. 27 episode of USA Network’s Smackdown.
In a video posted on WWE’s TikTok, Jey was preparing for the men’s Elimination Chamber match when someone assaulted him with multiple heavy objects, including a ladder, long wooden planks and metal crates. While the attacker wasn’t shown on camera, several crew members found the 40-year-old unconscious under the rumble and called the paramedics.
As the wrestler was loaded into the ambulance with a large bruise near his eye, his cousin and fellow WWE star Jacob Fatu—who was also injured in his own mysterious backstage attack last October—jumped in the car. But before they drove off, he turned towards Smackdown’s general manager Nick Aldis and screamed, “You better find out who did this!”
Jey was later replaced by Logan Paul to compete in the Feb. 28 match, but he was defeated by Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. As for Jacob’s plea for the attacker to be named, WWE hasn’t revealed who was behind the incident as of yet.
E! News has reached out to WWE for comment, but has not yet heard back.
This incident comes days after Jey—one-half of the World Tag Team Champions with his brother Jimmy Uso—competed against Bronson Reed to qualify in the Elimination Chamber match on Feb 23. He eventually won the face-off when Reed tore his bicep, forcing him to leave the competition to have surgery shortly after.

“Tomorrow is DAY ONE,” the 37-year-old wrote on his Feb. 28 Instagram post, which sees him in good spirits as he laid in the hospital bed. “The road back.”
Though Jey didn’t receive the chance to compete in the chamber’s latest round, he’ll always embrace his biggest achievement: Defeating John Cena at the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble in February.
“Man, I was low-key fangirling. I’m still a big fan of the guys in there,” he told ESPN of the win last month, before giving the retired wrestler his flowers. “John Cena has been around my family since my dad [WWE alum Solofa Fatu Jr.] was in the game, so being the last two in the Royal Rumble? I felt like a kid again. Just fire.”
