"Was taken into deportation custody": Amon-Ra St. Brown's mom Miriam reveals getting detained at airport by immigration while dating husband John

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and his brother, Equanimeous, host their podcast, "St. Brown podcast" each week. On this week's episode, they welcomed their parents, Miriam and John, as their guests.

Miriam Brown, who was born and raised in Germany, told the story of a time in 1995 when she was detained by Immigration after arriving in Los Angeles. She told the harrowing story and how their father, John, was instrumental in helping her get released.

"So I'm from Germany, I met you Dad in 1989. We were dating for five years, six years. So I was flying back between Germany and America on a tourist Visa. So anyway, it worked out fine until 1995, when I flew with my friend Stephanie, Frankfurt to LA, they swiped my passport and somehow they saw that I overstayed my tourist Visa,"

She went on to say, "The last time I was there, I was taken into deportation custody. Right there at the airport, my friend Stephanie, she was free to go. And I told her, Stephanie, please tell John because I knew he was waiting outside."

John Brown proceeded to say that he begged and pleaded with the agents to release his then-girlfriend. When asked if they married, he told the agent that he would marry her right there if that's what it took to get her released. The agent agreed and said that if Miriam Brown came back into the United States and they weren't married she would be immediately deported.

The couple did get married soon after and welcomed their son, Equanimeous, in September 1996, son Osiris St. Brown was born in April 1998 and Amon-Ra. St. Brown was born in October 1999.

Amon-Ra St. Brown's girlfriend played 'stylist' during Abercrombie shopping date

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and his girlfriend, Brooklyn Adams, recently went on a shopping date to Abercrombie & Fitch. Through a partnership with the brand, the wide receiver posted a video on Instagram of their shopping outing.

Amon-Ra St. Brown called his longtime girlfriend his 'stylist' as she helped him pick out the perfect outfits. In the video he said that he and Brooklyn Adams are on the same page when it comes to style, so he trusts her opinion.

"Went on a shopping date to @abercrombie – come see what we picked up," Amon-Ra St. Brown captioned his Instagram post.

Amon-Ra St. Brown and Brooklyn Adams have been together since they met sophomore year of high school in English class.
