An NBA fan favorite is heading to Australia.

This fan favorite happens to be a three-time NBA champion, winning two rings with the Warriors and another with the Lakers.

Now, JaVale McGee is heading to Australia.

ESPN's Olgun Uluc reports that McGee has reached a one-year agreement with the Illawara Hawks of the National Basketball League.

The athletic center McGee is 37 years old now.

He has played in 909 NBA games and represented nine different teams: the Warriors, Lakers, Nuggets, Wizards, Mavericks, Suns, Kings, Cavs and 76ers.

McGee not only has those three titles (2017, 2018 and 2020). He was also a member of Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, bringing home a gold medal.

The 7-footer's NBA career has been fascinating.

On one hand, he's known for plays so boneheaded that he was a frequent regular on Shaqtin' a Fool, the Shaquille O'Neal driven show that laughs at players doing inexplicable things on the court.

On the other hand, McGee's length and hops have made him influential in a number of big games throughout his career.

In his NBA career, McGee has averaged 7.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game in 16.1 minutes a night. If you extrapolate that out to starting minutes, those are huge averages.

At his age, though, McGee hasn't gotten another NBA chance since playing 46 games for the Kings in 2023-24.

Last season, he played for Vaqueros de Bayamon in Puerto Rico, where he averaged 17.1 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.

Now, McGee heads Down Under for his second foray into professional basketball outside the NBA.

Illawara is the NBL's defending champion, so McGee will be counted on to help try and keep the Hawks on top.
