The Golden State Warriors need Stephen Curry.
That inexplicable Game 1 win over the Timberwolves that the Warriors pulled off despite Curry’s second-quarter hamstring injury seems like it happened ages ago.
Since then, in Games 2 and 3, it’s been clear that Golden State can’t score enough without Curry on the floor.
They didn’t make a single 3-pointer in the first half Saturday night. That’s unheard of.
But with Curry out, things are different. Spacing is worse. Ball handling is worse. The Warriors just can’t threaten Minnesota’s defense in the same way.
Curry isn’t expected to be back until Game 6 at the earliest.
He could show up a game early, maybe, but probably not.

If anything Curry is more likely to be late to the party, not ahead of schedule, given the nagging nature of hamstring injuries.
Curry, 37, doesn’t have a lot of these chances left. You just know he wants to be out there.
But the Warriors probably have to win at least a second game of this series without Curry just to get him a chance to get on the floor.
Warriors fans, and just fans of basketball, deserve the chance to see Curry shine under the bright lights of the playoffs once again.
But in the meantime, the NBA world awaits any kind of positive announcement about the greatest shooter in league history.
