The Golden State Warriors are working to upgrade their frontcourt for the stretch run.

They've signed a 6-foot-11 EuroLeague star who just had 36 points and 12 rebounds in the G League on Friday night.

The new guy: Omer Yurtseven, with the deal reported by ESPN's Shams Charania.

It's a 10-day contract for Yurtseven, which he could parlay into more.

Yurtseven's name may sound familiar -- he played college basketball at both NC State and Georgetown.

He's now 27 years old, originally from Istanbul, Turkey.

Yurtseven has played parts of three NBA seasons, two with the Miami Heat and one with the Utah Jazz.

His NBA career has featured averages of 11.8 minutes, 5.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.

Yurtseven spent both 2024-25 and 2025-26 with Panathinaikos in Greece.

He has averaged double-figure scoring in Greek league play, while putting up about 7.5 points per game in EuroLeague play.

Yurtseven recently joined the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the G League and played just three games before getting this contract. In those three games, he made 56.9% of his shots while averaging 23.0 points, 13.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game.

He's got slight outside shooting touch, but that's not really his game.

Yurtseven may not get tons of action, but due to his size and skill, he's an intriguing addition for the Warriors just to see what he might have to provide.
